I'm watching the Congressional hearings with Petraeus and Crocker, but for an hour now I've been listening to the frankly rather uninteresting grandstanding from the members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs (or something). Apparently, the hearings must begin with every committee member giving a speech detailing their opinions on the war and Iraq. Why? Why not just let the general and the ambassador get on with it? It's just empty talk anyway from people who are not the main characters in this drama.

I'm beginning to understand why the members of this board dislike their politicians so much.

And Duncan Hunter... "I'm running for president too, has everybody forgotten about me?".

And now they can't get Petraeus' mike working. Amusing. This will go on forever.

Its like that very old joke about comedians.

"Every time he opens the refrigerator,and the light comes on,he does a 3 minute routine"...lol

Politicians are the same...stick a mic in front of him,and he feels obligated to state his platform and blow his horn.

They are lucky if they ask two qustions during their time.

Doesn't really matter what the Gen. says,the Dem. majority has already stated they will not believe him!

NYT ad by Moveon.org labled him Gen, Betrayus.

Shumer said the drop in violence occured DESPITE the surge,not because of it,and our soldiers have failed to protect the Iraqi people.

Reid says he has told untruths before,and is a Bush man.

This is all coming from Dems. who cofirmed him unanimously not long ago.
