Now I know that this came out a while back, but I wasn't around to get your opinions on it. So I want to know what you guys thought.

Now I was completely resistant to this in the beginning. Even though Daniel Craig had already ascended to the Holy Trinity (he sittith along side Bale and Bana), I didn't feel he was Bond material and I certainly wasn't ready for Brosnan to be replaced. I worshipped him in Layer Cake. He was fantastic. I mean that's how he got into the Holy Trinity in the first place. But James Bond? I don't think so.

Yeah, so I am totally eating those words now. Once my friends forced me to go see the movie, I saw the light. And the movie again. And again. Plus I got an illegal online copy to hold me over until the DVD came out. Which I bought at midnight the day it was released. I had to pay full price because the discount didn't take effect until 7 am. It was worth it.

And yes, I am a sad sort of person. But I love Bond. And Mr. Craig is the only man that has given Sean Connery a run for his money. No gadgets, no crap, no bullshit. Barebones and bareknuckles. He used his fists as much as he used his gun. The fighting was crude and clumsy like it should have been and I am more in love with James Bond than ever before.

Don't get me wrong, I adored Pierce. He dolled up the roll and classed up the joint, but this is the spy I've always yearned for. Blunt and to the point. Get the job done and move on. A guy not afraid to break his fingers on someone's face. And you have to admire a man who can endure having his testicles used as a bell tower. No matter what manner of torture you show me from any film in the future, I am always going to say "yeah, but Bond had his balls used for batting practice". Say that 5 time fast.

I especially liked that after having his heart gutted like a fish, he came back with the line "the job's done, the bitch is dead". Beautiful. Pierce would never have said something like that. I loved it.

The only thing wrong with this film is that it will be nearly impossible to top. I do not have very high hopes for Bond 22. But, of course I will see it.

I loved "Casino Royale" when I saw it in the theater last fall. I went Thanksgiving night with a few friends and the theater was totally packed. Wow, was I blown away. I was never a big Pierce fan (he was okay, but I was really sick of the bond films being the same old thing) and the last one he made was just awful. "Casino Royale" was great in almost every way. Daniel Craig is terrific in that role. The only thing that worries me about future Bond films is Craig's statement that he'd like to see Bond engage in a gay encounter!!! I'm not making this up, he said that in an interview last fall. Sorry, but if that happens I'm done with Bond forever. There's just some things you don't fuck with you know?? Bond is as heterosexual as they come and I don't need some new, politically correct, sexually ambiguous James Bond to fit our fucked up world in 2007. Keep him the way he is--a real man.

Oh and regarding Stefan, he wrote me back a few days ago and said he'd stop by at some point but is going on vacation to Greece first. So we should expect him in a week or two.

The Movie was good, I think the next one will be better. Daniel Craig is great actor!
